Katie felt good. She'd done some sprints early in the morning before going into the Ministry. She was pumped up, psyched up and ready to go. Oliver probably wanted to kill her; she'd been bouncing off the walls at the office. She was going to beat Flint. She knew it. And she didn't care that Seamus thought she had some weird thing for him. He didn't understand. He'd never played Quidditch, never understood the need to know what the other guy was thinking. If she couldn't anticipate the other Chaser, she couldn't block him, couldn't sneak the Quaffle away. That's all Flint was, after all. The other Chaser.
She got to the park early and talked to Dean for a few minutes before hopping on her broom. She flew in lazy circles above the trees, feeling the wind's path and the moisture in the air, adjusting her grip and her planned flight patterns accordingly.
