NEWT scores still hadn't come, and Lisa was actually starting to get antsy about them. After a few weeks of contentment working, relaxing at home, and spending extra time with Terry, she was ready to move forward again. She tried to tell herself that it had nothing to do with the
attack she'd had at the Ministry, but she could honestly think about nothing else.
She'd had a slightly relapse of the feelings upon leaving the place, but at least she'd been able to focus her attention on Terry and exit without it really being apparent. At least, she didn't think it had been. He'd been pretty affectionate once they'd exited through the call box, but that could also have been due to their little arrangement to remain professional only while inside. It had been surprisingly easy, really, while he'd given her a miniature tour of the department, because she'd been focused on other things. Still, the hug and kiss outside were as steadying as always.
It was things like that--things that made the intensity of her reaction seem almost like something she could handle--that gave her hope that she could still apply there. But it was as frustrating as it was physically and mentally painful.
Flooing over to Terry's Sunday evening--blissfully wearing denims and a comfortable shirt, since Parvati had not seen her leave--she was trying to decide whether she wanted to use the evening to forget about her problems for a bit, or to really discuss them. He'd owled earlier and offered dance lessons, but she was afraid to leave the topic undisclosed for too long. It almost felt lke hiding it from him, even if she really wasn't.
"Boot? Padma? Anyone home?" she called, brushing the soot from her clothes.
