Verity had spent the morning at the seaside, directing the setup of tents and tables, then Apparated back to pick up the flowers for the party. She'd managed a nap and lunch before heading back to the party site, bringing boxes of flowers and grass skirts with every Apparition.
She moved a table to what seemed to be the natural entryway and placed stacks of raffia skirts, leis, and coconut tops on it, ready to be laughed over and hopefully worn by the guests. George had been so hopeful that people would throw themselves into the spirit of the party, that she'd decided to wear one of everything, hoping to cheer him. Under her simple shift she wore a floral bikini, ready to be accented by flowers and coconuts. She'd taken an extra lei and fashioned bracelets for her wrists and ankles, and a third had become a wreath for her hair. It was as tropical as she could imagine being, actually...
She moved through the tent, lifting floral swags with gentle waves of her wand, charming them to the edges of the drink table, and to the upper edges of the canopy. She tied a few loose bits of seagrass and a single bloom to the Limbo Stick that George had given her, and set it aside in the corner of the dance tent as well.
Moving through to the next tent, she levitated the boxes ahead of her, then began setting flowers on the dining tables as well as hanging more swags. Hopefully the simple flowers and greens would lend a tropical feel to the place. Well, once the guests were dressed in raffia and leis, she supposed it would...
She waved at Bill...it must be Bill?...near the fire where the pig was roasting. It smelled fantastic, she thought, then wondered what the rest of the menu would be. Hermione and Harry were supposed to be coming with the food, and setting up, so Verity set the flowers and things for the food tables aside, to add last minute.
Oh, and Angelina, with the cake. Was anyone else expected early? Verity made another pass through both tents, gathering empty boxes and folding them, then tucking them under the drinks table. A glance up at the cliff revealed George, sitting alone on a rock, staring out over the sea. She pledged to herself again, to keep an eye on him, and Lee.
