RP: Better late than never

Summary: Parvati and Padma celebrate their birthday a little late.

Parvati tossed herself onto the couch, tired already. She and Padma hadn't wanted any sort of large party, and thankfully, they'd been able to avoid it. Their birthday had passed peacefully, both of them busy with work. After deciding to wait for the weekend to celebrate, they'd invited their closest friends over for what would hopefully be a relaxed evening. The drinks were ready in the kitchen, the wireless was on, and snacks were spread out around their house.
Now, she just had to wait for people to show up. Padma and Lisa were still getting ready, she assumed, as she hadn't seen them since they'd set things up. Lav would be here shortly, and Parvati resisted the urge to have a drink before anyone arrived. She really wasn't a lush, she reminded herself, but she was feeling tired from the week and might need something to help her prepare to be social. One glass of wine wouldn't hurt, and after all, it was her birthday.
