"Not bad," Lisa said, laughing as she watched a bright green ball careen off the side of the billiards table and then into the corner pocket. She reached into one of the other pockets and pulled out one of the other, equally as brightly coloured balls. It vanished in a puff of neon smoke. "So then the aim of the game, other than the fancy spellwork...."

"Is to pot them all before they disappear," her billiards partner finished with a little nod. "You're a pretty quick study, Miss Turpin."

She laughed again, looking over at the older man. She hadn't intended to play at all tonight, since she had come alone, but Tracey was inundated with customers and the game had looked so interesting that she had to ask the man about it. Thankfully, he'd been more than willing to teach her the basics, once he'd learned she was a relatively accomplished player. He'd still won, but her ego wasn't terribly wounded at losing to a man easily forty years her senior at a game she was still learning.

"Thank you again for the lesson, Mr. Hockett," Lisa said, nodding.

With a little bow, he excused himself. Lisa picked up her drink from a nearby table and sipped at it. Rather than her normal Muggle fare, It was some wizard thing she'd never had before--Firewhiskey and pumpkin juice--and it tasted a bit like pumpkin pie in a glass; strange, but good. Now she'd started, she was rather in the mood for a few games. She wished Padma or Parvati had been free to come along, but they were going to a birthday party for Ginny Weasley.

Ah, well. She picked up her cue stick, reset the table, and started experimenting with a few shots. At least she could get in some practise before she went home to preparing an invitation list and thoughts of Terry. Or, well, more thoughts of Terry.
