Stephen paced his living room. He knew the answer to this riddle; it was there in his mind, dancing out of reach. Why had Criminal A gone back to the scene of the crime after the Hit Wizards had already arrived, knowing he could get caught? Was it for the weapon? The date book that had been found at the scene? There was something else--some small hint. Hadn't there been an out-of-place object there? Stephen grinned. Yes. The first edition of that children's novel. Worth...how much? One thousand galleons if he remembered correctly. That had to be the clue. Criminal A needed to...
Someone knocked on the door to his flat. Stephen blinked a few times before the sound made sense to him. He tucked the pencil behind his ear and glanced at the window. When had it gotten dark? He opened the door, thinking at the last second that it could be Cho, so he smiled.
"Wow," Liam said as he shoved by Stephen and entered the flat, "a bloody smile from Stephen. I wasn't prepared for such a greeting."
"Liam," Stephen groaned, "I'm working. What can you possibly want right now?" Stephen made to shut the door but someone pushed it back open.
"Hey."
"Josh?" Stephen asked, surprised to see his other brother was there, too. "What are you doing with Liam?"
