Tub Thumping Job Hunting

Aug 06, 2008 15:21

I've been searching for jobs lately, and it's occurred to me,  I suck a job hunting.  Where is this magic place people are looking to find jobs.  I've tried the usual places (monster.com, washingtonpost.com) and find them to be mostly useless.  Am I doing this wrong?  I'm a pretty smart guy, it shouldn't be this difficult.    All suggestions

I just started searching on Indeed.com and SimplyHired.com, which cull listings from tons of individual job sites (I think they overlap each other a lot, though), using general key words (aka, psychology) rather than trying to come up with possible job titles (aka, counselor or psychometrician) and it seems to be pulling up a lot more options that I wouldn't have thought to look for.

I've been using indeed with the general keywords, and been frustrated. Someone suggested using job titles, and that's been working out better for me actually. I guess it's different for everyone.

I'll let you know, but all of my job leads are for tech people (because that's what I do mostly). Justin Flowers, I'm not sure you've meet him is sending out leads for mantech positions in security. Policy and verfication um. again it might be to much techie stuff. I know that's not what you'd like to do.
