quiet grey morning

It was grey and foggy a little while ago; now it's a pale blue-grey sky with white clouds shading out of it (is there a word for when you can't see the edges of the clouds, because they're fading so subtly into the sky behind them?) I don't do that, but I admire that you do. I have so far been lucky in my interactions with people-- or simply haven't noticed when things don't add up in retrospect.

I don't mind somebody spinning a tale to an extent, so long as I know what the truth is to begin with. I have a dear friend who is a raconteur of the highest order, and the way I say what he does is this: The first time he tells a story, he's burned dinner. By the time he's told that story four times, he's invented fire. If you are twitching and there's an unreliable narrator at the scene, then you bet your sweet bippy you need to double and triple check what's being dicussed. Even if it's never going to amount to a pie in the face for whomever is dispensing the misinformation, at least you can know to as much of an extent as possible what the actual facts are. xoxo B
