The Master was sitting a few feet away. Though he had a glass on hand - Venusian wine, thought of on a whim to test the bar's abilities - he wasn't drinking it. Instead he had a sketchpad in hand, and was busy writing out formulas and designs. Using inferior material to power his ship would require some amount of retrofitting, after all.
Actual writing was something he did only rarely. It was growing tedious. And so, he looked the other man over, hoping for a distraction.
Daniel was already glancing over; he'd caught sight of something that looked technical. When the stranger looked up, he was completely caught - and muffled a smile behind a sip of scotch.
"This is only my second time," Dan said - matching the smile with his own, slightly off-kilter one.
He chanced a closer look at the notepad. "What do you have there?" Dan asked, knowing full well that he'd probably be rebuffed; but geek curiosity had to be sated, one way or the other.
"Does that mean - is this place new?" He asked, feeling somewhat foolish for putting it that way. Of course, places just didn't spring up out of nowhere, right? But then - how to explain the replica of his apartment just outside this very bar? That certainly hadn't been there before, had it?
"Do you know anything about this bar or the places it seems to connect to?"

"Well enough," he remarked, rubbing his wrist. "S'been a while since I've written things out like this. Tapping at keys has spoiled me, it seems."
The page was already dense with computations, save for a space at the top. There was an odd sigil of loops and circles, partially scratched out.
"And you? I haven't noticed you here before."
