He kept venturing out further and further, making meticulous notes when he returned; he wanted to record everything he saw, every person he spoke to - he was determined to unravel the riddle of this space.
Dan saw the stranger and approached cautiously. "Hello there."

He nods once to the man as he approaches. So far, he's not sensing anything overtly 'evil' about the man. But first impressions can be decieving, so he's waiting to pass judgement.

Dan would probably rate fairly neutral; he's not excessively kind - in fact, he's been known to be more rough with criminals than strictly necessary. But he's not overly cruel, either - a careful line he has walked for some time now.
"I haven't seen you before. But then again, that's not surprising, given the nature of this place."

He arches an eyebrow, curious. "Relatively few people have interest in seeing me." A pause. "Given my line of work."
