It was still a bit strange, though, to see him doing what was certainly not moping. A man of his visible age certainly shouldn't be able to grump.

"I have had a rather unpleasant day," he said, considering his words carefully even as he considered how he considered them. 'Unpleasant'? Seeing the state of the wizard victims? Dealing with the wizards?
Unpleasant was the least of it.
"I wish you a good evening."

But he had to rest often; there was something about this world that made his body feel heavy. He wasn't in a gigai, so he didn't know how to explain that feeling. He wearied more quickly than he was used to.
Once he emerged from his thoughts, he noticed the other. "... Hello." The shinigami captain said, with a hint of a smile.
