Being solitary was something she'd come to be surprisingly good at over the past few years. It was rather difficult to make friends when you were attempting to hide what you were doing from the people you'd been around your entire life. He doesn't so much greet her as place a glass of very good merlot within reach.

So it is that she takes a slow sip of the merlot. He does have good taste, something she'd nearly forgotten being gone for even that short amount of time.

"May I?"

She thinks of announcing that she won't be very good company, but that is probably obvious enough and he's offered nonetheless.
"Have ... you been well?" She's a bit terrible at this 'polite chit-chat' thing, you see.
