Characters: Kay, and whoever decided to show up to her last-minute birthday party.
Date/Time: November 11th, evening.
Location: Kay's apartment.

Summary/Notes: Script format. Kay turns 30 and decides to try and get people together so that she can pretend that she has a social life to the people at work.

[And of course, the one knocking on the door was none other than Lieutenant Surge himself. He came with a box of beer cans tucked under one arm and another ~mysterious box~ in the other. What was in this mysterious box? Something good for the birthday girl, that was for sure.

Electivire also stood right next to him. He was totally carrying balloons in one of his hands. That is, bright yellow and green balloons.]

[When Kay opened the door, she was grinning, and maybe a little bit flustered. She hadn't quite thought this far ahead.]

I'm so glad you could--
[and then she noticed what he was carrying. and also an Electivire with balloons.]

o-oh, you really didn't have to do anything, just coming was more than enough! [with that, she moves out of the doorway to let him in. She also may have stifled a giggle at electivire. He just looks so silly with those balloons.]

What, didn't have to do anything? [Surge laughs as he comes inside and places the beer down. The gift was still in his other arm.] Well, okay, then I guess I'll just have to take this gift away!

[He holds the gift in both of his hands now and whistles.] You'll be missing out!

[He's completely bluffing- she's getting it anyway.

Oh yeah, and here comes Electivire. He tosses the balloons aside to they can float to the ceiling of the place. He then approaches Kay and gives her a nod and a rumble. That rumble was his way of saying, "Yo, happy birthday, woman."]

[Kay shrugs. As curious she is as to what it is, she can't just. seem to change her mind like that, that would seem selfish.]
Let's not jump to conclusions! I mean, you don't really know me too well, as far as I know, you might have brought a, a.. make up kit or something.
[oh no she can't say that with a straight face.

Oh hello Electivire. Kay nods back with a little smile. Meanwhile, on the other side of the room, hanging out behind a small group of balloons is magneton. Just watching. And judging.]

[Not long after Surge, Red appeared at the given address he had scribbled on a scrap of paper. In one hand was a small box of sweets (mom wouldn't let him go empty-handed as a guest); the other had a grip on his backpack strap. He looked at Pikachu who sat on his free shoulder then back at the door.] It should be the right place. [He lifted a hand to knock.]

[She was slightly less nervous the second time she opened the door- once the first guest has arrived, the rest aren't so bad.
Aside from the fact that she hadn't been expecting Red to come by. She stands in the doorway for a moment, confused.]

Red! I didn't know you were planning on coming!

[Oh well! This confusion only lasts for a moment or two before she smiles and steps out of the doorway to let him through. and maybe give a little wave to pikachu.]
Come on in!

[Red needed a moment to ask himself if this meant he was barging in. However, Kay didn't seem bothered by it, so he nodded and followed her in. Pikachu waved back happily.]

Thanks. Oh, mom made brownies. Happy Birthday, Kay. [He lifted up the small box to place in her hands.] Your present's right here. [Pikachu hopped off his shoulder as he carefully slid his backpack off to place gently onto the ground. He pulled out what looked like a gift basket wrapped in clear plastic and tied with a humongous purple bow resembling an Arbok. The 'basket' was actually a large coffee mug, which looked more like a cereal bowl with a handle; it was filled with a package of coffee beans, little cookies, chocolate and other coffee-related items. Red stood there holding it with both hands.]

Uh, I don't know if you like this brand, but someone in the office said this is the best one around. [He looked a bit sheepish.] It's kinda heavy; where do you want me to put it?

[Not bothered at all. In fact, she's very honored to have had him come to pay her a visit.]

That's so sweet of her! Tell her I said thanks, okay?
[And then he went and brought out that gift, and Kay just. stared at it a little. Holy crap that was a lot of coffee. And good coffee, too! As soon as Red said it was heavy, she moved to take it off his hands and take it into the kitchen.]
You really didn't have to, Red, but thank you so much! You know, I was almost out of my last bag of coffee beans.

Um- so, can I offer you something to eat or drink? Surge was kind enough to bring by some beers, oh, but I don't know if you drink, are you even old enough to? I've got some other things in the fridge if you don't. [And then Kay rambled nervously for the rest of forever.]

[Sitara drops off her parcel at the door, pecking the door to get someone's attention. She pulls out the birthday card Meissa sent with the package, ready to hand it over. She seems rather pleased with herself, she hasn't eaten a single pastry yet!]

[When Kay opened the door, she was almost positive she'd had a prank played on her. She was just about to close the door and dismiss it when she heard the 'tweet' and looked down to see Sitara.]

Hello there! What's this?

[She kneels on the floor in front of her, and reaches out a hand, both to take the card, and to give the pidgey a small pat on the head.]

[Sitara closes her eyes in pleasure at the pat, then tweets again for good measure. She gives Kay the card, and takes to the sky. Meissa had better give her a pastry for all this work.]
