Watching Decorations Go Up [open]

Date/Time: December 15, late morning
Location: Celadon City fountain plaza
Warnings: None
Summary/Notes: Red is monitoring the decorations outside of Celadon Department Store.
The air was crisp and dry that late morning as Red stood next to the moving van watching the stocky men and Machoke carry loads on their arms. He knew that the Celadon Department Store would decorate the area around the fountain every Christmas, but because the League sponsored part of the set up, Red found himself with an assignment to keep the quality of the work in check. He didn't like the feeling of looking over someone's shoulder, but a job is a job.
There was still time before the decorations had to be ready, so schedule-wise, Red knew that they were on time. He already read through the expected timeline which was attached to his clipboard tucked underneath his arm. The most important star of the show was the large Christmas tree, but the department store's CEO seemed to like lights, so around the tree are large, plastic, light-up candy canes, Stantlers, Santa's sleigh, snowmen and of course, an inflatable Santa Claus. Luckily, if a few of those were missing, no one would notice. The tree itself demanded enough attention that he already saw a few passerbys collide with each other or a lamp post.
Red was glad the construction area was roped off. Earlier, there were barely any people around town, but at this hour, the square was crowded with shoppers, visitors and children who were let out for the holidays. He stood just inside of one of the ropes in case people came by with questions, so they wouldn't have to interrupt the workers. He wondered who might stop by.
