"Maybe a little."

Surge was blunt. Oh yes, and he's standing right nexto Elesa. When did he get there? He was totally on her tail and was on the 'hunt' like a Raichu after a stray power cord. He wasn't able to give up that easily, and sadly, Elesa wouldn't be able to lose him this time.

He was a man on a mission. This time, it surprisingly didn't have anything to do with Elesa's assets, although she wasn't at all bad for him to look at right now.

"You need this key?" He held it up and jangled it in front of her. He wasn't about to let her get it so quickly, though.

He then tried to lift it out of her reach. Who knows how well that might work, depending on how tall the other gym leader was.

Elesa wasn't going to ask about how he got there. She figured out that this place was Surge's stomping ground and probably knew how to get here in a flash. Oh well.

But did he have to be that frustrating, waving the key in front of her face like that? Yes, she figured he was the one who had the key.

And holding it up like that, tauntingly! She was wearing heels but still, Surge towered above her. Certainly, she wasn't going to make a show of jumping and reaching for it inelegantly.

Instead, she placed her left hand on her hip and looked at Emolga, who was choosing this moment to hide behind her legs. With a nod, he flew up and hovered around Surge's hand. Emolga of course, was aiming to get the key in it's paws or at the very least, knock it out of his hand so that his trainer could go retrieve it for her own purposes.

Now that was just underhanded! Using Pokemon for your dirty work? GEEZ.

... except not really. If anything, though, Surge just found that to be cheating. Cheater cheater Cherubi eater. In the end, it was enough to make him relinquish the key, handing it to the Emolga and its tiny little paws.

"Fine, fine, here! Daaaamn, this Emolga thing really does like a champ! To think an electric and flying type that isn't Zapdos exists!"

Well, at least now Elesa can get inside.

Emolga dropped the key in Elesa's outstretched palm before gently floating down to perch itself beside his trainer again. It was very pleased and smug with itself because it had done a good job and the big man had complimented him.

So was Elesa, in fact. She looked at the plain key in her hand and smiled at Surge before a quick turn and she was now looking straight at the lock again. An insertion of the key in the groove and it slotted perfectly. A click, twist and a jiggle and the lock was open. It fell to the ground as Elesa took the key out and the abandoned Power Plant was opened.

"You've mentioned this Pokemon before, this Zapdos." began Elesa slowly as she clutched on the key. "I gather from your explanation that it is a flying electric Pokemon of some sort. A bird? I don't know, I've not really heard of it."

She faced Surge now. "I do thank you for relinquishing your key. Would you like it back? Or would I need it again? In fact, is there anything else I need to know before I enter?"

Surge was about to question further about... whatever a Klink was, but once Elesa started to attempt luring it out, he kept his attention on that. He wondered how good she was at this. Pikachu were docile and trusting, but they still weren't the easier electric-type to capture.

The mouse Pokemon slowly peeked its head out after a minute or two. It sniffed the berry cautiously and looked up at Elesa all the while.

After another couple of minutes, it finally emerged entirely and began to eat the berry. With that, Surge whispered, "Go for it...!"

Now Elesa was temporarily stumped. Should she attack it? No, that would probably scare it away. Or would it? She took out a Quick Ball, tossed it at Pikachu and the little mouse was engulfed by the red light before dissapearing ( ... )

Oh. Ohhh.

Elesa just made Surge's heart sing right now, too, although not in a manner related to the Elekid they just found.

"Excited, aren't you?" He smirked and gestured to the Pokemon, who was slowly beginning to back away. "That ain't an Electabuzz. It's an Elekid! It evolves INTO Electabuzz! It's the first stage, and they aren't around here a lot! That's why I said you lucked out!"

The way the lieutenant spoke wasn't making the Pokemon feel any more safe. It zapped a small bolt of electricity at the man's feet, causing him to jump back a little, but not out of fear. It was more out of reflex.

"Hahahahaha! Real feisty!"

Elesa stood and pondered for a moment as Surge was dodging all the electricity being aimed at him. He was loud and brash, yes and Elesa shook her head ( ... )

What. What. What.

Instead of entirely weakening it and tossing a Poke Ball at it like a normal trainer, Elesa just carried it with her again. She achieved the capture of an Elekid, a Pikachu, and a Magneton all in the same day, and the first two were by, uh... different means than he was used to.

The lieutenant gave her a bewildered stare before he clicked his tongue.

"Yeah, I bet you couldn't have done THAT with an Electabuzz. They wouldn't be so nice to you!"

Surge shook his head. BAH. WHATEVER. "We can head on back to Vermilion or something. If you want, come with me to my gym! I've got some TMs you can use on these three." Thunderbolt and Shock Wave, specifically.

Yes Surge, Elesa knows how to blow your mind in more ways than one"I do what is necessary to gain trust - that Magnemite respects me as a trainer now and it shall do as I please. But my first Pokemon was not caught per se, but rather we agreed to work as a team due to a mutual agreement that we wanted to help each other. So I judge each situation as I see fit. I am not out to stomp baby Pokemon ( ... )
