There was a protest (and an argument) ready to be shouted when Cress told him that he would take over for the cooking... but there was a point there. Chili asked for help, and he was getting it. He huffed a little, leaving with only a simple "don't screw this up".

It wasn't his intention to make Elesa wait at all, but when he saw her, a bit of nervousness and guilt hit him. He cleared his throat and approached the podium. "Elesa! Sorry for my delay; there were a few difficulties in the kitchen." Chili smiled, then turned in the direction of where she would be seated. "If I could take you to your table?"

Cress only chuckled at his brother's thinly-veiled threat. He would be fine, of course; he wasn't Chili, after all!

Besides that, he wasn't about to mess up in front of Elesa of all people. He had to make sure the café fulfilled its reputation, so he would be as perfect as possible with the food.

"Yes, please do." Elesa didn't like to be kept waiting especially after the fiasco outside. It was bad enough that she had delayed them by no fault of hers but difficulties in the kitchen? That was unexpected yet... completely expected. She remembered how hot-headed Chili could be and how Cress could be a damper.

She allowed herself to be escorted by Chili to her table, after all she was expecting five star treatment as promised.

And a five star treatment Elesa will surely get! Chili actually tried to learn how to be a proper waiter for this instance, so when they reached the table reserved for her, he pulled out her chair for her then pushed it back in once she was seated. He even added a little bow, just because.

He only had a gut feeling that the food would be ready soon, so... "What would you like to drink?"

Meanwhile, the food was coming along quickly enough! It wouldn't be too long before it was done, so Elesa wouldn't have to wait much, and Chili wouldn't have to make too much antsy conversation as a time filler.

Then again, talking to her while she was eating might be a little improper and awkward as Chili wasn't eating as well...
