Summary: Jubilee just got a moped - Angelo wonders how.
“How the hell did you get that?” Angelo Espinosa chewed on the end of his first morning cigarette. In front of him, hidden in the shadow of the garage, crouched Jubilation Lee. Stencils and spray-paint were set up all around her.
“How’d you get another pack?” Jubilee glanced back at him, her smile visible only in her eyes as half her face was covered in a hospital mask.
“Begged Jono to snag me a pack.” He grumbled. “That whole under age thing is bullshit - I’m legal somewhere.”
“That’s what I’ve been saying.” She tossed off her masked and started putting up her art supplies.” I thought Sean banned them though?”
“Yeah, well, he can’t talk - neither can Miss Frost.” He made a drinking motion with his hand. Everyone knew they drank. “So, moped. You get a hardship license over spring break?”
She nodded. “Yeah. Since I passed my flight classes ages ago.” Angelo gave her a look. “The X-men made me learn how to fly the jet incase of emergences.” Another looked passed between them. “Seriously. Anyway, since I passed that, Logan helped me learn how to drive - not just in parking lots - so I could get around without relying on Frost.”
“Bet they love that.” Angelo checked out the pink designs she had applied to the blue paint already on the bike. “You going out tonight?”
Running a hand through her short choppy hair, she shrugged. “I was thinking of seeing a movie.”
“Mind if I tag along?” He snubbed the end of his cigarette, a whole half of it left for later.
“Uh-” Jubilee’s face looked as though she had thought about the X-men - but instead of mentioning it, she smiled and nodded a little on her way out of the garage. “Yeah sure - it’s a date.”
Angelo smirked, grabbing the open comment before she could realize she had made it. “Cool, I know this great Chinese place.”
Jubilee stumbled over her own shock.
