Mesprit - The Being of Emotion
Place of Origin: Lake Verity, Sinnoh Region
Gender: Female
Age: too old to know (about an average teen . . . maybe a little older when human-form)
Eyes: Golden
Hair (as a human): Double ponytails on each side of her head (similar to her Pokemon form)
Backstory:
According to Sinnoh Mythology, Mesprit, as well as her siblings, Azelf and Uxie, were hatched from the same Egg and created by Arceus (whom Mesprit commonly calls "Daddy") in the Beginning of Time. It is said that when she emerged from the Egg and flew in the skies, Mesprit blessed humanity and Pokemon with Emotions, whether happy and sad, fear and anger . . . From that day on, she was sent to the bottom of Lake Verity where she was to remain at the bottom of the lake to sleep. Still, she would allow her soul to separate from her body to see the world above her home, but she was warned to never allow anyone to touch her . . . but her curiosity leads her to make a tragic mistake when she leanrs why. (Based on a ONE-SHOT piece - "The Only Regret")
Recently, she, along with her siblings, were captured against her will by a scary-looking young man named Cyrus to make an item known as the Red Chain with their red gems. Thankfully, a trainer released them from their struggled captivity and they returned the favor by assisting the trainer at Spear Pillar and in the Torn/Distortion World before returning to their respective homes within Sinnoh. (Based on D/P/Pt gameplay)
Current Items:
- Choice Scarf (given to her by Soul) - she wears it around her shoulders and neck because the weather doesn't bother her.
- Destiny Knot (given to her by Soul) - she's plotting something with this
- A pink box with random hair accessories, ribbons, those sorts of things (a gift from Reiji)
Personality:
For a legendary that's been around since the creation of the world, she's rather naive yet she manages to sound wise when speaking from the heart. She is kind and friendly, but sometimes she likes to play around with those she trusts and feels connected to (just like in the games); however, she can lose her cool and get upset, flustered and teary-eyed . . . she's the Being of Emotion after all!
After spending mostly all her life in a cave at the bottom of Lake Verity, she's rather new to many things of the world . . . so don't blame her for being clueless at times. A few things may bother her, but she tries to overcome them after seeing others doing the same. She's a quick learner.
Abilities:
- Being a Psychic-type as well as the Being of Emotion, she can read a person's feelings, depending on strength. She's not a bragger about it, but sometimes she will speak it aloud if she feels the person could use the reality check. She mostly uses this to judge someone before she responds. At some times, she can be easily affected by very strong emotions from far away, even when she is asleep.
- Although not an ability, she can steal away a person's emotions just by them touching her form. They will lose them after three days, but it's not like she enjoys it . . . she had a bad experience from long ago that haunts her about it. It's kinda out of her hands when it happens . . .
- For some reason, she can change her form into a human (gijinka-esque, though she appears as a 13 or 14 year old girl). It is a random transformation, usually caused by a powerful emotional reaction on her part (intense embarrassment, nervousness, that sort of thing), but there is a good thing about being in human-form - she can be touched freely without her curse affecting those that do so. (This is a good thing - she really wants hugs)
- As a Pokemon, she can speak to humans and Pokemon via telepathy; however as a human, she can speak like a human and still understand and speak to Pokemon.
- Also, she can temporarily separate her soul from her body without dying. However, she hasn't tried this in her human form . . . so she doesn't know how others will react to it. In her Pokemon form, it appears almost as if she is unconscious or almost dead, but she is merely in a deep trance.
Likes:
Sweet foods, cookies, making friends, happy emotions, smiling, hugs (as a human) - that's only a few things . . . She's very easy to please.
Dislikes:
Team Galactic (after what they've done to her, I think we all know why she doesn't like them; it's mainly their boss that she doesn't like), sad and angry emotions, being trapped in closed-in places (even more bad memories), bad things happening to friends, . . . and probably some other things that she doesn't want to talk about. She doesn't want to burden strangers with those . . .
