 So, this evening I went to see my friend Alex, who is leaving tomorrow morning for USC and college and the grand not-living-in-Reno experience.

Because this was his last day, he'd been saying a lot of goodbyes, and he said he'd cried a lot and that it was all very emotional. When I first saw him, and he said that, I thought, 'I'm not going to cry

I will miss you so much, but I will have you know that I fully intend on coming to see you in January. Until then and after that, you can always feel free to call/text/email/skype(cause I'll get on that shit)/stickam(cause I somehow have that shit)/IM/facebook/LJ/Twitter/Tumblr etc.

And if none of that works in the French world, just know that I'll be here when you come back to drink coffee with.

I know I do too hate to say goodbye. I'm not really that emotional but good byes just does it for me.

Saying goodbye is hard, but it makes staying in touch that much more fun! You'll find out who your true friends from home are. Definitely. And conversely when I said goodbye to people when I left uni to come back here this summer, I was freaking out because I would miss them so much but have turned to letter-writing and SKYPE (greatest invention ever) to help me feel closer to people, and trust me, it works. Don't let yourself get lonely and the sadness of the goodbyes will be healed in no time.

On another note, if you ever fancy a trip to northern England... (or England at all, I could meet you for a weekend away from Durham or something!)
