i am happy that fuel prices in the states are increasing... people need more efficient vehicles and we need to get off of a carbon-based economy. don't people realise that can only happen when people stop buying bloody oil!!!!

I am not so happy my gas price is rising. People are just complaining more but still aren't driving much less.

but the US has artificially low prices through subsidies!! petrol here, and everywhere else i've been, is over $8.50/gallon right now...

we need investment in public transport; GOOD public transport. it needs to be rapid and effective and we need it 50 years ago (when the highway lobby effectively removed it!)

I can't even imagine 8.50/gallon. I think people would drive less at 8.50, but it's inching up slowly but surely and it's almost unnoticeable. Like, huh, it went up another few cents today, eh, oh well.

I would never argue against better public transit though!
