I'm fairly ostracized at work. It only bothers me when I'm at work, which is now, but I'm here upwards of 40 hours a week. This exclusion, I tell myself, is mostly my own choice, because I really have no interest in any of my coworkers except one. It doesn't stop it from being a total drag, though, when they all discuss parties or favorite ( Read more... )

you dont even understand how much i love "dont let me down".

Its by far my favorite beatles song....theres something about watching them play that song on the rooftop that sends chills down my arm. IT speaks volumes about the time they were recording it...was john talking to yoko? Or was the was he speaking to his former best friends turned bandmates turned annoying co-workers?

All i know is "dont let me down" is prolly the most real thing you can say to a loved one, friend, and family member

At the tale end of the song billy preston hits this amazing run on the rhodes while lennon screams "PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE.....PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE"...makes me tear up every time...

this plus the song was written during the time of the band breaking up showing that even on their death bed they were still amazing

...but what about songs with a 4/4 time signature? Get to work on that shit. You should be hitting the snare at the pace at which you'd be hitting the high hat. You should be hitting them together. For three minutes. Or, the bass drum stead, if you have it in you.

No but seriously, yes, yes, and yes. The keys make that song, Lennon's voice is rarely stronger, and the rooftop performance more than sealed that deal. Most of the time, Yoko hovers in the background, a sly commentary from the cameraman.

maybe you have been spending too much time in portland trying to aquire a sense of being so...apathetic that you come off as uninterested and arrogant. the fact is that you DO care and you probably ARE doing things that make them dislike you. I used to like you, a lot, but the fact is that you've been trying incredibly hard to be someone that you aren't happy with. so my advice to you is either that you stop spending as much time TRYING to be someone who you aren't or you start spending a little more time doing things that make you happy regardless of how they may appear to your scenster "friends"

huh.

well,
I don't really know where to begin with this one. It's true that people who don't like me likely have sound reason. As far as my scenester friends are concerned, I don't really have any friends in Portland yet (or too few to really make that conclusion), so I'm not sure what that's founded on. The rest.. well... the rest is just a little unfair; I won't say wrong, just.. unfair, because I highly doubt that you yourself don't grapple with issues of identity, apathy, happiness, social persona, and anything else I've been accused of, indirectly or otherwise. It's also unfair that you accuse me of arrogance but then evaluate my entire being, label the summation as fact, and go on to give me advice. Still, I'd be interested to hear what my interests are, specifically the ones I forsake in the name of image.
