If anyone knows anything about Morning Dove behavior and/or physiology, there's one out on the porch that flew into the window, has been there about 22 hours, has flown 2ft above the ground but no higher, wings are aligned and functional. Likely brain damage/concussion. If it doesn't heal within a couple days, something will likely eat it.

Otoh, mourning doves are a bit strange to begin with.

Update- it can walk.

My guess is brain damage. It might heal up, or it might bleed out and die. No way of telling that I know of, unfortunately.

Well, so far there's been no blood anywhere after 24 hours, and it flew into a bush anyway, not to be found.

If it's got a concussion, the bleeding would probably all be internal. *shrugs* It might just need some time to recuperate.
