On a spectacular event

Friday (most likely, possibly Saturday) I depart for Alabama to meet Phil and Rich, and join them in transporting the house-boat to New Orleans. Should take about ten days to reach the Big Easy, and the boat will shove off on the 4th of August.

Whoa, they really got a houseboat? Crazy!

Well, they don't own it, per se- they're borrowing it from Phil's dad for a while. It's a 40ft by 15ft rig that had it's original motor break down and has it replaced with an outboard motor. We'll be going about 6mi/hr + river speed.

I don't imagine you'd want to go much faster in a houseboat. They aren't the most agile things.
