Lucy being in this show is the ONLY reason why I will even attempt to watch it. But absolutely she would have been better as Sherlock.

Off the top of my head, the closest TV's come to a genius misanthropic female detective is Temperance Brennan on Bones and Megan Hunt on Body of Proof. I am a big fan of the latter show because her sidekick is a sweet, hot male cop, and they flirt a lot. I'm sure there are more awesome female detectives with bad people skills if I just sat and thought about it.

I don't think anything specific is happening in H50 fandom, just the usual bullshit that goes on every time a woman who isn't Kono is onscreen and near Steve or Danny. But I could be wrong.

Damnit, now I feel bad I haven't been watching Body of Proof!! I did like Bones in the early seasons, but stopped watching after a while but I can't seem to remember why?

It all sounds tedious so glad I'm shielded from it!

I get that there are some people who have legitimate worries that CBS will fuck this up because they don't have a good track record when it comes to producing shows that portray women fairly, but it just seems like the majority of fandom reaction is "ewww, girl cooties!"
