'Cause We Gotta Get Up Early And We Gotta Go.

I'm so bad at tumblr, you guys. It's supposed to be my happy place, but then I get angry at people saying stupid things in a fandom that I don't even participate in, and then I am getting my ragey words and thoughts all over peoples' dashes. Ugh. Sorry for all of it. I'll just invent a thing that will let me punch stupid people in the face over the ( Read more... )

my friends are fucking enablers, elementary fic, oh my life!

Yeah, I won't be able to keep my mouth shut if I see that kind of talk. It's just harder than I thought to avoid fandom stupidity on tumblr, and I've been trying!

I definitely want to give it a chance because I will honestly watch Lucy Liu in anything. Plus, I'd be interested in seeing another interpretation of it. It could be brilliant, it could be horrible, but I just want to see what they're going to do.

!!!

I did not know about the canon bondage! I am even more excited now. :D

Joan Watson's "disgraced doctor" backstory

THIS. The show hasn't come out yet, we don't know anything about it beyond the main leads being cast and a few details. It could change by the time the show airs, but huge swathes of fandom are howling about how Watson is going to be ruined, RUINED, because of a backstory that we don't know anything about yet.

It never fails to disappoint me when parts of fandom react to new female characters with outrage and hate, but have the nerve to complain that there aren't enough strong female characters in their media.

I will say what I just said in my rec post: if the show is half as good as this, I will be watching the shit out of it. :) Love the voice you've got for Joan - it's a perfect combination of badass and brilliant.

:D Thank you! And thank you so much for the rec.

And yeah, I really hope the show has Watson being equal to Sherlock instead of always being in awe of his intellect. I like the idea of Joan respecting Sherlock's talent, but actually calling him on his bullshit when he indulges in it, and they're actually friends through it all instead of Joan being his sidekick.

Here via lamardeuse, and hell, yes!

This! I want this show! This is the show I want to watch! From your fic to the show-runners' creative brains (we should only be so lucky).

Or to put it another way: This is a treat. Thanks for that. :-)

Oh, God, I want this show to be like this, you have no idea. This is the trope of my heart, and if their relationship is anything like this, I will be flailing with delight every week. :D

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback.

Hee. I figure something good had to come out of all that ranting. ♥ And yes, isn't it the best trope ever? I definitely want to write 'undercover couple' and 'accidentally married' fic with them. :D
