My observance of the Day of Silence has been going rather well.  I have indepent study at 1pm though and there is literally, no way, i can get out of it without talking.  Its one on one with my professor.  At least

we definately spoke via AIM, but i can't go an entire day without communication with you...that whole idea is just incomprehensible to me.

Kids who participate in the Day of Silence at Rice get T shirts and the profs get notified so they don't get called on or anything. Couldn't you reschedule your 1 on 1 or maybe just do it all in writing? Hehehe.

oh man, yea my silence was DEFINATLY broken during my 1 on 1. I had to schedule my thesis defense and it involved me RUNNING nearly the equivalent of a marathon. I had to talk to 5 professors and 2 secretaries. Scheduling my thesis board to meet at the same time is ridiculous! Then i ended up being 20 minutes late for my 2pm class and my teacher was about to lay into me and my friend Kat yells..."She can't talk! She is protesting!"

At least my thesis is now scheduled, i just have to figure out how to write this 30 page paper.
