This week, Auschwitz and Iraqi elections and much heart rending news and occurences. I can't say anything so eloquent as to match the situation. I'll paraphrase MLK, who despite all his shortcomings could write among the best of sermons. God Bless America ( Read more... )

nice one Rob...especially since most of our freedom's here are slipping through our fingers. We need to be reminded of it. Lincoln said, " We lose one step of liberty at a time." And by the time people wake up from their easy credit, cash out your equity, buy a new car, stay drugged on cable lives, they are going to realize the American dream is gone and their own greed and ignorance has destroyed America for their children and their children's children.

Well I don't know how much has slipped away while I've been gone. i hope you are exaggerating. Roosevelt, who is the man, said this in his Message to Congress (December 3, 1907) "To waste, to destroy, our natural resources, to skin and exhaust the land instead of using it so as to increase its usefulness, will result in undermining in the days of our children the very prosperity which we ought by right to hand down to them amplified and developed." What can I say, he has a quote for everything. If we aren't taking care of our kids inheritance then we are failing and we need reform.
I think we should take a page from the Mick Jones and "... go easy...step lightly...stay free"

let you remember you do not stand alone in these times of corruption and despair, a calmness of social unrest is due. for now there is oppression and death, but there will be a sunrise tommorrow...

I don't understand your userinfo. What else would a hat be called? And a couch? My grandma calls it a divan, but I don't think its political. Do you take offense at my grandma?

There are some misguided parts of North American wherein a hat is referred to as a 'toque', in addition, they call couches 'chesterfields.' I don't generally take offense at anyone's grandmother. I don't even mind folks who call their hat on the couch a toque on the chesterfield. I just don't.
