Quite an endorsement for Ellroy - gonna have to check out some of his books. I was watching some old movie this summer and he burst into the theater and did an introduction to it. He was annoyingly loud and seemed extremely twitchy. Saw Black Dahlia when it came out but don't remember much; loved LA Confidential whenever it came out but again don't actually remember it
