You ever read Stravinsky's notes on composition? Most of the same sloppy arrogance is in that shit. If he hadn't been dictating the whole thing to some humble nobody, it would've been lined with so many scare-quotes. But behind all the obnoxiousness, Igor outlines a portion of his compositional technique, and he who listens is left with his mouth hanging open.
Basically, if you're wanting to get inside the head of a genius that knows he's a genius, you're going to have to sort through some serious bullshit.
Also note that you just used the word "bombast" followed by a reference to an academic figure (I presume) that *nobody* has ever heard of.
