Woo-Hoo! I turned on the social capital feature and I'm nearly top 4,000. Probably pretty good considering I barely update this thing. I'm trying to blog more, time is just fleeting like rain drops after a heavy storm. Now for some Game of Thrones, yea baby ( Read more... )

Nice one! How do you turn on that feature? Would I need a paid account?

It looks like your social capital is already on....there's a setting in profile....I had to send a support request because my setting was ticked to be counted in rankings, but it was not displaying the rank. If you check in your profile, and the box is ticked to be counted, then you need to file a support request.

I haven't been around LJ much. This post is like a foreign language to me. Ha. What's "social capital"?

I have been back sporadically in 2014, but I'm now back again daily. Anyway, Social Capital is LJ's internal ranking system. They rank journals and communities. From my understanding, the ranking is basically a ranking of engagement...how often you comment, how often people comment on your entries, the page views you get. All of those stats are then ranked and you're given a place in the ranking system. Go to your profile and you'll see your stats. If you don't see rank, make sure you're settings are on by going to http://robertlyon.livejournal.com/371766.html?thread=4671798#t4671798 . If you have the box checked, and your ranking still doesn't display (go to my profile and you will see I'm ranked about 4,000) then you need to file a support ticket. Mine wasn't displaying but got resolved within an hour after filing the ticket..

Did yours work right away, or did you have to file a support request?
