Am I the only female in the literate world who doesn't see Snape (or Alan Rickman, for that matter) as the least bit sexy?

Or, at least, very nearly. I had this explained to me about a week and a half ago, that Rickman conveys this barely-restrained passion that you, as the lovely lady in question watching him on the screen, are just the person to unlock, that he's a bubbling cauldron beneath that veneer of British civility. I had considered the picture of David Tennant on the cover of "The Stage," where he's quoted in the blurb as thinking of himself as the least sexy person on the planet.

Beh, I don't want all the work of frickin' "unlocking" people. Why do so many women want men to be more high maintenance than they already are?

I think this ties back in to another conversation from a post on your LJ: Men fall in love with a woman and try to keep her the same, women fall in love with a man and try to change him. Or something. The way you quoted it sounded better.
