I know this really concerns you, and I worry about the stress this causes you. Have you talked to your editor about how much this worries and upsets you? Maybe she do something.

I was really stressed about how "book placement" was affecting my Vampire Memories series and I talked to my editor, and we ended making quite a large change in the situation. I would try this.

You are so gracious and kind to be concerned and to offer advice. I couldn't see how to directly message you on your LJ however to explain the situation.

My editor is Susan Allison. I don't know if I can help, but I'd be glad to try.

I'm really sorry to hear that!
I would punch someone in the head if I could (No, really, I would. Just let me know if I'm needed -wink,wink)
I guess it doesn't make sense, to me anyway, that they would be released so early if they aren't TECHNICALLY suppose to be out til the 1st?
Either way I'm waiting - I'ma reaver and I'ma not let you down Rob!
Blackout is gunna kick some major ass on the top sellers list! (;

I got your back! Much as I want me some Cal RIGHT NOW! I can wait until March 1. I have plenty to do in RL between then and now.

No worries from this region.
Bookstores around here are hyper-aware about releasing books on schedule because they got nailed a few years ago for it.
Apparently it was messy and their tails are still firmly between their legs. They mentioned it when I went to reserve my copy of Blackout.
So you're good here! :)

Plus, those of us in this area are doing their best to keep an eye on things. And, believe me, we are... energetic, to say the least. See what I mean?

First, I swear I am not going to buy Blackout until release day.

I was at 2 bookstores in the last two days (my son was hunting for manga) and I can say it was NOT on the shelves at either store - one was a Borders, the other a Barnes & Noble.
