What does the "DCNu" hold for our bird boys?

Following the announcement of the revamp of the DCU in September this year, the fate of our favourite BatBoys has been left sort of up in the air... until today, when announcements about three of the four male Robin's were made

( First up.. who else, but Dick Grayson )

robin, nightwing, dick, multiple robins!, red hood: jason, robin!bruce

Mou...I don't think that Batman and Robin dynamic's going to work well at all. It's going to be the same problem as when Jason was Robin, and Steph - they're the wrong personality type to set against Bruce. They're too cynical, bitter and/or violent to be the sort of foil that Robin needs to be.

Damian kinda worked as Robin only because Dick was his Batman, and an overall more hopeful character. When it's Bruce in the bat-suit, you really need a more optimistic Robin that represents, at least on some level, the kind of innocence that Bruce needs to remember still exists and still needs to be protected. That's why Dick worked, and Carrie Kelly, and Tim when he wasn't being written by an angst-hound.

Pairing Damian and Bruce...ugh. That's gonna bite. -.-;

Steph, cynical and bitter? She's not even that violent. Yes, she is/was impulsive, but I think that's precisely why Bruce was wary of working with her as Robin, and why he decided it wasn't working out. Because Steph is much closer to the "Robin type" as exemplified by Dick (and yes, even Jason) than Tim - prudent, analytical, don't leap before looking Tim. That's why Bruce accepted as his Robin, that's how DC created Tim, as an anti-thesis to what had come before, and Steph represents that sort of Robin.

I miss the blue and the finger stripes, but I'm sure Dick will make it work.

I think Tim will be with TT too. Don't know how I feel about the Jason book yet.

1- If it ain't broke don't fix it, and the old NW costume was freaking perfect. Also will miss him as Batman kind of a lot, since Bruce is still totally dull to me, and it was great really liking the main character for a while. :P

2- Words don't describe my happiness, even with the really silly lack of Winnick.

3- ...I really can't see Bruce and Damian together as working... their personalities just don't go together like Dick and Damian's, and I can't honestly see Bruce having the patience for him. =/

Is it just me or are they hinting at Starfire/Jason in this verse? I mean there is bound to be shipping here or maybe I'm just reaching here.

Or did they just decide to put all the red heads together in a single team? Yeah, it looks that way to me.

Don't think they're hinting at that. Considering his past interactions with Dick, I'd say Jason will have a LOT to prove before Kory trusts him properly.

That stands for the current continuity, not the lolmagical!fix! thing that DC has going on with their Continuity 3.0. (this is NOT a defence of Kory/Jason, btw.)
