Just wanted to let everyone know that RENT was completely awesome, and that everyone should go see it! And...if you need someone to accompany you, I'll totally see the movie again! :)

From someone who hadn't seen the musical or listened to the soundtrack, I loved the movie. It was really good, and I'm looking to buy it on DVD.

But Shannon's been singing it to me all the time, so maybe I won't need to buy the soundtrack...

I'm really glad that you liked it! It's a long movie if you don't like musicals..:) And buy the soundtrack...not that Shan's a bad singer...but I'm guessing the cast might sound just a little bit better..:) I can burn you the old music (from the original broadway cast), but I think I want to get the new one too.

I thought this was interesting:

Taye Diggs (Benny), Wilson Jermaine Heredia (Angel), Jesse L. Martin (Collins), Idina Menzel (Maureen), Adam Pascal (Roger), and Anthony Rapp (Mark) are all from the Original Broadway Cast of RENT in 1996 and are playing their original roles.

I just was reading all about that yesterday. I thought it was odd that Taye Diggs was in the original cast, I never realized he started out on Broadway..I thought he was a model or something. AND..since I didn't really like Idina Menzel, I thought that was a little strange too.

I got to see rent last week. I didn't know the story-line, only heard the "best of" cd once, so I went into it comepetely innocent. OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I loved it! I cried, laughed, smiled and cried some more. My friend Phil ended up comforting me because I got so into it. I can hardly wait for it to come out on video!

I'm so glad that you liked it! It's been getting pretty horrible reviews, so I'm always curious to hear what people thought of it! I've seen it 3 times so far, but I would love to see it more before it leaves theatres. A guy at work today stole it off the internet though, and told me he'd burn me a dvd, SO...I might have my own copy soon! :) Thanks for sharing!
