Wow, it's great to hear from you! It sounds like things are really going well for you!
I took a class on Women in Spirituality last semester, and I loved it. There were only five of us in the class so we often ended up having our class discussions in a circle on the floor, and we really got to know each other well. The class was sort of a history class/self exploration/modern events/everything class.
You'll be in Senegal next fall? Are you going to a university there?
..I can't figure out my major, either! Sometimes I want it to be Medieval Studies, sometimes Fine Arts, sometime Asian Studies, sometimes English, sometimes something completely different.
That class sounds absolutely fantastic. That's what I think school is like at its best. I'm glad someone else can't figure out their major! All of my suite mates at school have had it figured out forever, and I feel like I've been left in the dust sometimes. What attracts you to all the different majors you're considering?
Hopefully I'll be going to school in Dakar next fall. At K study abroad is a pretty big deal, and Senegal is the program that excited me the most. But I haven't applied yet, so we'll see what happens.
I don't have a January break per say, but I have a month long winter break, which ends about a week after new years. Something special happening in January?
It's good to hear from you. We should start writing letters again, I'll send you one with all the salacious details of my life that are too scandalous for live journal.
I replied to this in a letter, but then realized that I wasn't sure about the address I should send it to! I think I've got the right one, as the return address on the birthday card you sent me. But I'm not sure. Greystone Street?
Until I read this I'd forgotten you were in Kalamazoo, about 45 minutes away from were I used to live. Being 15ish hours away makes me realize how close that was. You also make me miss K-zoo. I remember driving down the hill that runs past K-college into downtown every week and admiring the view of the city from there. Say hello to it for me?
How would you feel if I used your last name in my pen name for if I ever publish a book? I'm tossing around ideas and yours is the one I like best. It goes very well with the first names I like and it has significance and stuff! :D
I would be honored. And it works out perfectly, because then if I ever publish a book and use my real name, people would be like "hey are you two related?" and we can say yes!
