Two candles for you tonight. You sound as if you need more help rather than less, for not ringing quarter. Isn't it sad how the thing we dreaded the day before is often what we would rather be doing on the day? I try to take the opposite view of life most of the time, but there are days when not only is the glass not half full, but it seems to have a hole in the bottom and be draining your life's blood along with its own contents ( ... )

So on a positive note * while I sniff my way through the closing up of my computer ** here is a cartoon pertinent to the whole book conversation that's been going on in this blog. I thought it might wring out a smile:

yeah, I know somewhere or other mention was made of mini-urls but as I didn't apply it at the time, it went over my head or perhaps through it ***

*** like any number of things do, whether or not I am paying attention.

**** and i'd rather be sued than called Sue any day (not that I have a problem with the name for other people, but I am so not a Sue).

I couldn't agree more. This evening I am quitting early. I know it is time to quit when it takes me longer than five minutes to do a sentence because my eyes keep closing and my head nods off. Amazing how it all improves when not working sometimes...

Still stuffed to the gills (yup, I'm tired, I almost wrote stiff stulled to the giffs), I am trying one of my aromatherapist's remedies, 20 mls of almond oil with 2-3 drops of lavender, eucalyptus oil and 6-7 drops of benzoin. Can't say as I have seen any difference. I do a bunch of remedies but the colds and flus all seem to last however long they were going to anyways. I still persevere. Eucalyptus burning, propolis tincture and anything else I can think of.

I hope Darkness is over the squirts.

************ There are homeopathic remedies to try too. At a very remote guess, for you maybe nux vom. But between now and the next time you have a bad cold you might lay in a first aid book and a first aid kit.

Hope it's something that can be easily (and quickly and inexpensively) fixed.

(*wince*) Sounds like you need someone with some chicken stock to make you some nice chicken soup. (I'd offer, but I don't cook. I do, however, know that adding whole allspice to the recipe makes it come out deliciously sweet with a unique flavor, and making sure all residual salt is out of the chicken before cooking also enhances the flavor. Don't EAT the whole allspice -- remove it from the soup after it has finished cooking.)

Wow. I never in my remotest dreams thought that *I* would have ANYTHING to contribute to a cooking thread here. In a perverse way, your despair has inspired me. I hope things are looking better soon.
