From a purely conservationist point of view, and remembering all the Really Stupid People with Really Stupid Dogs[1] and that (as you wrote) the people owning it raise game birds, they may Have A Point. As in not wanting the birds habitat and nests and whotnot destroyed.

I know any number of people who find the entire raising-game-birds-hunting-with-dogs-things appalling, and if you're one of them, never mind. But if you a bit of a bird-conservationist, these people do a great deal of good in preserving both the wild native game birds, and their habitat.

[1] Not the dog's fault. I know. The effect is just the same, though.

I do know what you'r etalking about, and I also know/believe that the reason a lot of England is still green is because it's privately owned by selfish wealthy creeps. I can be grateful for the green and still want to slap the selfish wealthy creeps up longside the head and tell them the world does NOT revolve around what they want.
