I think the reason Hugin did not scarf up the tin of cat food is because he is now used to fresh bird.

yah!!! Congratulations on getting your kitty back. I lost an indoor cat several years ago and he spent the summer prowling the neighborhood and becoming feral. One day I heard meowing in the shrubs in front of my house, dove into them and grabbed him and then threw him into the house. I still have scars from the event.

Remember when you were catsitting our cat Teddy and she disappeared?

I do remember that Teddy was such a beautiful cat...

I have no idea how Hugin found food. He was only about 9 weeks old when we adopted him, and he has always been an indoor cat.
