I may go back to hating you. It was more fun. ~ Cary Grant as Roger O. Thornhill in North By Northwest

If you were to try to assassination a king, sir, the, how shall I say it, the aura of royalty would cause you to miss. But, the president, I mean, why not shoot the president? ~ Richard Harris as English Bob in Unforgiven

Of course, the whole point of a Doomsday Machine is lost, if you keep it a secret! ~ Peter Sellers as Dr. Stranglove in... well, Doctor Strangelove
So after a bunch of listens, I do like the album. Considering its Tool, I wish it was more though. Whats so great about Tool is the versatility of each of their albums. Aenima dealt with the grotesque while Lateralus had its theme of spiritual awakening. 10,000 Days felt like a bunch of Tool songs but not a Tool album. Coming off Parabol/a from Lateralus, the masterpiece of this album was its two-part track, Wings to Maria and 10,000 Days (Wings, Pt 2). The title track may have been the most beautiful song ever constructed by the band. It is that track that reveals why the album plays like it does. The album is more personal than any of their previous outings. While it lends to depth and meaning, it unfortunatley took away from quality.
Granted my writing was never really that good, the days I can't turn out anything at all. I traced it back to the summer that didn't happen. Before that the ideas were just there, ready to be turned into something else. I think what happened was after I got my shit back together, I became a very goal oriented person and buried my creative side underneath all the goals I set for myself. I became a machine at the cost of my soul. When I think about wanting to go back to my seven leafed friend, it might be to get my mind open again, to bail out my inner voice. That, or I can always but that ad back up for a muse.
Godfather Part 2 was really cool, I felt a little strange at the end considering how often people say it was the best one in the trilogy. DeNiro gets top marks for not only playing Vito, but for continuity in carrying on Brando's Vito. Having said that, DeNiro was the shining part of the story, Michael's story felt.... just there comparitivley so. While the first film was the rise, and this would be "the fall," The story seemed to exist around him while all he did was react to the story as opposed to the first one where he actually siezed power. Yeah, I know, part 3 ain't all that great.
Gungrave.... eesh. I'm liking it so far, but something better happen soon to move it up better than that. At times it feels like Trigun (good), at others Blood: The Last Vampire (good), and still at others Hakusho (BAD!).
Gonna start looking into Peter Greenaway and The Archers pieces.
Date Movie, ok, I watched this one only to see if it was as bad as people said it was. It might be the new "worst, movie, ever." It was the second ever "Waste of a netflix."
Pullman's Dark Materials Trilogy got the green light and the first role was cast. Thankfully, not Dakota Fanning. For any fans of the Harry Potter books or movies I seriously reccomend this series as a follow up, or at least to hold the readers until Book 7 hits.
