My mother thinks that my father wanted to study abroad, but his family was really poor and it was impossible to study abroad when my father was a student. I think it is true, and that's why I have to study hard in America! :3

Hello, first time here, we share a similar story. I went to study in Canada for a year of sciences, but then grew disheartened. The tuitions are so expensive, and I have a hard time deciding which field to focus on. Although I did well in school I lost faith in myself. I didn't feel comfortable asking my dad for more money.

Now that you've mentioned it, there were really no Japanese students in my classes! I'm surprised!

Hello! and welcome!!
Tuitions for international students are really expensive, and because it is hard for us to find a job abroad, we have to count on our parents. This is kinda disgusting XD;;

My college has a lot of Japanese students, so Americans here would say "What? A lot of Japanese people study abroad!!" but actually Japanese students who study abroad are rare in Japan.
