The Tragedy of Michael Jackson

I'm sure everyone knows it at this point, but Michael Jackson passed away this afternoon. I heard about it almost as soon as it happened, but have been out all day and unable to write. That was beautiful, man :( You made a lot of points I wasn't sure how to articulate. I thrive on nostalgia and fantasy, and he did too, he just took that love to an extreme.. I always felt bad for him, being stuck in a childlike mode.. I might end up the same way.

I'm strongly reminded of high-octane gymnasts, ice-skaters, and other young athletes who get pushed way, way too hard by their parents/trainers.

Very interesting (and probably true) interpretation of Michael Jackson's life. I doubt that there will ever exist quite as gifted and strange a man again.

;; this is first time I hear about this... I just woke up. I can't say I was a big fan, I really liked him when I was a kid back in early 90's. I think he was my first favorite singer ever. I love what you wrote about him, this is what I've been thinking about the whole pedo rumors going on.
Bawww this news makes me extremely sad. Dammit, I was listening to some of his older songs just a few days agooo... ;; RIP Michael
