The Tragedy of Michael Jackson

I'm sure everyone knows it at this point, but Michael Jackson passed away this afternoon. I heard about it almost as soon as it happened, but have been out all day and unable to write. Being away for a while gave me some time to let the thoughts percolate, though. I've kept my feelings about him bottled up for several years, and I feel like if any ( Read more... )

Incredible. You've managed to put into words what I've felt all along, since first picking up the paper to read about him when I wasn't even yet in Kindergarten... and feeling very sad once I was in grade school and reading about all the legal stuff he was going through. I never believed it for one second.

I sympathized for him because it reminded me of my 2nd grade teacher, Mr. Ware, who went through the same crap involving child molestation. I KNEW him personally, he was my at-home teacher and I stayed the night with him and many other friends numerous times. It's the same story... he was pure, innocent, and child-minded enough to not realize the consequences to befriending his students so closely. I defended him in court, and it lost me a lot of friends and respect, I was looked at like a freak. Now Mr. Ware is living the kind of life that Michael lived, despite his innocent verdict, he's a complete recluse and I haven't spoken to him in years and years. :/

Indeed, you put into justifying words how I've always perceived MJ. In fact, it was my viewpoint that those court challenges were the after effect of some greedy persons, looking to blackmail him out of great sums of cash. After all, those kids whom "testified" pretty much vanished rather quickly under the light of 'swearing to the Bible'.
