i have a very good set of dvd's to show you and alex. i think you will enjoy them. i won't tell you much about them, though, because you are not of the liking of such sharing of information. it's a tv series by the name of firefly. that is all.
you can totally grow an orchid in boston without making your room into a sauna. just start with an easy one (like a phalaenopsis) and make sure it is sitting over a small thing of water (but not with the roots in it). when i had one, i had a terracotta base that i kept always filled with water, and then had something in the water that the flower pot sat on top of.
it worked really well and was blooming and happy until i went home for spring break and the person who was to take care of the plant didn't :( keeping the immediate air moist is key. but you don't need to make over your room.
rax claims walking on grass made her cry when she was little.
but yes, things covered with fur.
there seems to be a pile of "visitor's cards" for loyola marymount university (where rax was working). these cards seem to have the head of a lion on them....
i love plants . plants!
i just got to see the largest tree in the world. largest by *mass* that is.
