today i held in my hand ice that may have been up to 20 million years old, which multiple countries fight over for the chance to study.

so i ate it.

delicious!

we were told that it's excellent to put in whiskey. apparently you get lots of fizzing from the rapid release of gas bubbles as the ice melts. sadly, we forgot to bring any.

the tour of the ice core storage facility was actually in bremerhaven and has nothing to do with my research project -- but it was fun!

i currently have two data points one my project. two points make a line, right?
