The doc upgraded me to modified bed rest at my last visit, meaning I can be on my feet a little more, so we celebrated by going out to dinner for the first time since May. They'll be removing the cerclage on the 9th, so I could have the baby any time after that. Probably sooner rather than later because the cerclage is what's keeping my cervix ( Read more... )

Tomorrow starts week 34 of 40 (collect and trade with your friends). The further I get the more uncomfortable I get. Lying down and getting up make me dizzy, sitting up is tiring, walking is difficult. Even lying still is ouchy; it feels like I came in fourth in the crotch-kicking contest. Now that Twopointoh can recognize sounds from outside (per the baby books) DH likes to read to him. He even shows the illustrations to my tummy. It's so damn adorable the sugar makes my teeth ache. Despite having filled out leave forms well in advance for work, they somehow managed to screw up my paycheck to the point that I didn't get one on Friday. I predict a lot of time on the phone Monday morning.

My ultrasound went pretty well. Two Point Oh is growing as he should be. Cervical length has gone back down to where it was when I left the hospital, which is a bummer, but the cerclage is holding. All I can do is stay on bed rest and try to relax (i.e. nothing).

I have another anatomical ultrasound tomorrow on the hottest day of the year and I'm not looking forward to it. Not because of the heat, but because the last time I had one of these done I wound up in the hospital for over a week. The last checkup I had wasn't as good as the others either. I've been on bed rest for six weeks now, and what's kept me from climbing the water tower with a rifle is hanging out online via my PSP. You're keeping me sane and entertained and I thank you all. Without this I'd be a sad, neurotic little Robo. Let's keep the party rolling for another ten weeks.

DH picked up Batman: Arkham Asylum yesterday, which has a lot of spiffy graphics and butt-kicking goodness. I kibbitz while he plays since I can't really sit up long enough to play for long.
