Sad things

There are many sad things going on.

So my first sad moment of the day was when I watched Taylor Swift's VMA-winning music video and thought, "Jesus christ, how the hell did this boring video win?"

Of course, now the song is stuck in my head. Shoot me.

Isn't that the girl who won and then as she was giving her acceptance speech, Kanye West ran on stage and said Beyonce is ten thousand times more talented?

Because seriously, props to Kanye West. This is why I don't watch the VMAs. Crap artists win.

Yeah, that's why I looked it up! Admittedly, I don't think Beyonce's video is "OMG BEST VIDEO OF THE DECADE" (is that what Kanye said somewhere?..) or that running onstage during someone's acceptance is a good idea, but I prefer that video.

I agree totally but on the other hand, in the pop world, I think Beyonce is pretty talented. Much more so than some 17(?) year old girl who is just starting in the business. Seriously. Beyonce is hotter, more experienced, and I prefer her voice. Plus, she can dance well. I think Taylor Swift's claim to fame is that she plays guitar as well but it doesn't sound different than anyone else's. She's just like every other girl out there who plays guitar.

Maybe if she was doing heavy metal it would be a little more special.

As far as Kanye West goes, it was immature, but I love how all the little pop stars are like: omg he's a jerk. This is exactly why I love Kanye West.

(I wanted to make a post about it but now I don't have to hehe)

Taylor Swift, is just *not* another girl who sings well and plays guitar. She also writes her own music (she is also the youngest songwriter to be hired by some record label). If you listen to the entire album, you'll notice that the lyrics carry some kind of sincere melancholy that just missing from alot of mass-market pop (ie Britany Spears).

I am not afraid to admit that sometimes listening to the album makes me cry.

Yeah, I just watched that video for the first time, too, and... gag. Really? How cliche? Also, I resent the fact that in her portrayal as a boring nerdy girl, they made her a clarinet player in the marching band. :P
