Last night we went to Derrick's school to watch "Parablelooza! A Musical and Game Show All Rolled into One" Talk about fun! It revolved around readings of some of the parables given by Jesus Christ. This morning it was time to vote on propositions for California. This time it was between 8:30 and 9am so children were in class and it was quiet. During the presidential election the lunch bell had just rung and I was besieged by elementary kids running for lunches. Now I must go to sleep - had a crazy night.

There was an interesting article on CBS news, which I don't normally watch, about how the recession is affecting children. It talked about the top "safe family locations" in the US. Chicago at the top and I was happy to see Rockford, IL, my hometown in second, followed by Indianapolis, Atlanta, Chattanooga, Milwaukee, Davenport,IA and Greenville, ( Read more... )

rono_60103, Derrick and I will go for our appt. at the post office today for new passports. Mine because it is not only expiring but it also still has my maiden name on it. Derrick too because he also has a name change. So I've assembled all the goodies needed. Marriage cert., Derrick old and new birth cert. and his adoption papers, and our passport photos. Yesterday at the meeting that rono_60103 and I attended I volunteered to help out at Comicon. Mainly at the Com Station Z table, but I can see a few other things that I could help with. I've noticed all the commentary in the comic strips on the demise of newspapers for quite some time. Now the biggie is commentary on things like Twitter (especially "Sally Forth") and Facebook (mostly "Grand Avenue" - Grandma is addicted). Yesterday was nice. After "Sunrise on the Shore" Easter service on the beach in Oceanside we all went home to relax for a while. Later I mentioned that Greek food would be nice for a late lunch. Last night we all got home MUCH later from Disneyland than we had anticipated. I woke up fairly early, put the TV on and watched the news while rono_60103 kept sleeping. Today rono_60103 are taking Derrick down to Balboa Park to the San Diego ScienceFest for kids. This has been ongoing for all of March, but today is the big bash. It's free today and there is an impressive list of companies, schools and other groups with many displays and hands-on projects.
