Caught The Chosen on tv a few weeks ago and was sucked back into its beauty. I was weak! Seriously though, this is another of the films I'd recommend, alongside
the novel it's based on (link contains spoilers). I hear they remastered it this year, too. Long time coming--

You know, the colors and the lighting really reminds me of the hospital scenes in The Fall - but after watching the trailer, I think that's just because you have a great hand for picking motives, haha.
The boy that's also in your icon has some great expressions! Like from 72 to ~80 :)
I guess you enjoyed the movie? I'm always so horribly pessimistic when it comes to movies without fantastical/science fiction elements, haha.

If only everything could remind us of The Fall. :D
He does. A very emotive face. You can't really tell in the trailer, I think, but his eyes are very blue, too, which makes everything more striking.
I'm bias because I love the book, but it's one of those films that I've watched over and over and not gotten tired of. It's very character-driven, and the relationship between Danny and Reuven is just so, so charming. I would recommend it to you. :}
+Thank you for taking pity and commenting on this, even though you aren't familiar with the film. ♥ Don't worry if in the future you don't want to comment- please don't feel obligated!

Indeed. The world would be a better place. ;)
Well, in that case, I'll have to watch it! (Is the book/author very well known in the US? I don't think I've ever heard of him, sadly. But maybe I should have.)
Trust me, there was no pity involved. I think the icons are awfully pretty, regardless of whether I know the characters or not. <3 No worries, if I comment, I want to!

I hope you can find it easily! It's kind of an elusive DVD here at times. (I'd say yes and no? His books are considered 20th century classics by a lot of people, and sometimes they're used in literature class curriculum, but it almost seems like there's so much going on in our generation today, with all these new books and literary fads, that his works aren't as big as they used to be. And even more, because a greater majority of them center around themes of Judaism and Jewish culture, if someone's not looking for that in a novel, he's even easier to pass on. Too bad he didn't write about some Jewish vampires or Jewish wizards. ;p)
♥!
