Pick a character and I will give and explain the top five ideas/concepts/etc I keep in mind while writing that character that I believe are essential to accurately depicting them.
2. I always, excluding moments of Tele!rage, allow myself to over think all his comments and posts. I know he does it too.
3. Longing. He's still waiting for his father in a way. He doesn't know what he must be missing by not having him but- that need is always going to be a part of him. Even if Ody does show up.
4. Stealthy bids of smartness. Where we can't see.
1. This song. I know the gender words are wrong but it really speaks to my Medusa muse. Wounded and angry but still wanting yes.
2. The lisp. Her third person and first person both depend on her mood but the lisp on the 's's is always there when she speaks.
3. AthenaAthenaAthena. Poseidon is the one who hurt her but Athena is the one who broke her. I always try (tried) to keep in mind the look that must have been on her face, mere moments after it happened, when the Goddess who was supposed to understand- cursed her and let the god go back into the ocean.
4. She loved the sea. In the Before time. She can't forget and neither can I when I write her.
1. Claustrophobia omg. Danae was locked in a box by her own father and had no idea if she would ever get out again. Even now that she is free she lives in fear of being trapped that way again by people she loves and trusts. It's one of the reasons she's so adverse to marriage- to her the domain of the Goddess Hera is just another cage. I doubt she was very happy living in the castle

Diktys was always major for me with Perseus too-he represented a good man who respected people, something I felt Perseus didn't see anywhere else.
YES TO FOUR. It's part of why he's such a mama's boy for me. And he was whipped because he knows his Mama worked so hard for him and all women deserve his respect.
1. Not a moron. I always forget, caught up in my rock jokes and mommy jokes, what a deeply intelligent man he was. Athena liked him. Sure he preferred the simple talk of Ajax to the grand speeches of Odysseus, but in no way was he a fool.
2. How deeply his love and anger both run. There will always be a part of him that loves all his lords and ladies, though he may no longer act on it, a passion that can't be controlled despite his better impulses. When he loves most terror usually follows. It's part of what makes him Achilles: rage and love go hand in hand for him. Emotions that can transcend lifetimes.
3. Selfishness. He is by modern standards an asshole. It's okay. I have trouble keeping this aspect of him consistent but. He is. Asshole.
4. Battle. Achilles always thinks about life in terms of the next battle, even in civilian mode he sees things in terms of war. His mother tried so hard to protect him from it that he almost couldn't help but be this way.
