I've done that with pop cans, coffee cans, and even a 55 gallon drum, but that's waaaay better, about 40,000 times better. I assume it was on purpose?

I'm not sure of the context but I believe it was a safety demonstration. The car has been pulled off the tracks presumably so it doesn't damage the rails. And someone is filming it like they know what's going to happen.

That's an expensive demo! Even our 55gal drum one cost $20 or so every time we ran it. We'd set it up at the beginning of a science presentation, boil some water to fill it with steam, then cap it and let it sit while we were doing the presentation, and suddenly it'd collapse with an *amazing* sound you could hear with your chest, somewhere in the middle, and everyone would scream. It was great.
